1923 Sir Lawrence Weaver established the business to provide employment for ex-servicemen disabled during the First World War with support from Sir Stafford Cripps and Bertrand Clough Williams-Ellis. Through his Presidency of the Design and Industries Association he was able to draw on the services of prominent designers including Phoebe Stabler of Carter, Stabler and Adams and the noted art deco designer Percy Metcalf.
At its peak the pottery employed about 40 ex-servicemen
1924 exhibited at the 1924/1925 British Empire Exhibition.
1935 the Great Depression and the death of Weaver led to the closure of the Pottery
