1924 George Steele and S. D. Cowlishaw purchased patterns and drawings for ball and pebble mills from an engineering company that had closed and established the new company.

1949 Steele retired; company purchased by Appleyards of Leeds
1958 Baker, Perkins purchased Steele and Cowlishaw to augment its Chemical Division.
1973 Advisory and Components Services of Weybridge, producers of machinery for GRP, was incorporated in the company.
