Makers of stationary steam engines[1]
1868 250 HP tandem compound engine at Illingworth and Ingham, (The City Sawmills), Leeds, 13" and 30" dia, 3' 6" stroke, driving 10" belt on 12' diameter flywheel[2]. George Watkins photographed this engine in 1962, and records it as a 150 HP engine[3] It was kept in excellent condition, and was unusual in having the LP cylinder bolted to the main bedplate, while the HP cylinder had its own short bedplate and feet, and was fixed to the LP cylinder with tie bars.
