- An 1860 advertisement headed 'James Munro ( From Messrs, Holtzapffel & Co.)' is taken to indicate that Munro had been an employee of Holtzapffel and Co before setting up in his own business [1]
- An indication of the high quality of the company’s work can be seen from the photos of a lathe sold recently by Abacus Antiques of Forfar, reproduced with permission.
