1813 Fenton, Murray and Wood put a steam engine, boiler and paddle wheels in an old French privateer owned by [[John Wright (2)|John Wright]]. The boat plied for some years between Norwich and Yarmouth carrying 107 passengers. Later the engine and boiler were moved to another boat that worked the Medway
