Mountaineer were motorcycles produced from 1920 to 1924, by Richard Wylde of Marsden, Yorkshire. There was no connection with the make above.
1920 These machines were made by a small producer who did not appear at the big shows or on the lists and he entered the market with one basic model, powered by his own 269cc two-stroke engine, offered in two forms of transmission.
1921 A Sturmey-Archer gearbox was an option, as was a two-speed racing model.
1922-1923 Those options disappeared and it was back to the original machines.
1924 A three-speed Albion gearbox was a further option. It was the final year of production.
