1857 The company made a large portion of the wire required for the first Atlantic cable.

1898 The company was registered on 3 March, to take over the business of wire manufacturers of the firm of the same name. [2]
1914 Manufacturers of all kinds of iron and steel wire, tinners and galvanizers. Specialities: steel wire for ropes; all classes of cast steel, hardened and tempered steel mild steel, Bessemer charcoal, iron wire. Employees 300. [3]
