Sir Courtenay Boyle, Railway man.
1845 Born in America; eldest son of Captain Cavendish Spencer Boyle.
1886 Became Assistant Secretary to the Railway Department of the Board of Trade.
In his brief obituary as published in The Engineer 1901/05/24 is states;
It must not be supposed that his duties were limited strictly to looking after railways. Tramways, canals, shipping, lighthouses, gas and water, patents, and latterly electricity, had each and all to be dealt with.
1901 Died.
