OWEN WRIGHT was born at Dudley on 22nd March 1835. | |||
On leaving school he entered his father's works; and after a few years was admitted a partner into the firm of Peter Wright and Sons, anvil and vice manufacturers, of Dudley, and of Broadwell Forge and Wire Mills, Oldbury; the business, after his father's death in 1875, was carried on by himself and his brother. He was associated with his father in perfecting and carrying out several improvements in the manufacture of anvils and vices. | |||

OWEN WRIGHT was born at Dudley on 22nd March 1835.
On leaving school he entered his father's works; and after a few years was admitted a partner into the firm of Peter Wright and Sons, anvil and vice manufacturers, of Dudley, and of Broadwell Forge and Wire Mills, Oldbury; the business, after his father's death in 1875, was carried on by himself and his brother. He was associated with his father in perfecting and carrying out several improvements in the manufacture of anvils and vices.
For the last fifteen years he had the entire management of the works at Oldbury.
He died on 20th October 1883, at the age of forty-eight, after only about a week's illness from a severe attack of inflammation of the lungs.
He became a Member of the Institution in 1883.
