Martin Benson (1824-1888).
In 1858 was living at Craven Street, Strand.

American sound engineer from Cincinnati, who also worked with improvements in the use of steam.
Known for his 'California' hand pump, the steam pump, the 'Rider' hot-air engine, and the 'Rider' expansion gear for steam engines.
Buried at Norwood Cemetery.
