1911 Living at 35 Rolle Street, Pilton East, Barnstaple: Edward Bushen (age 42 born Arlington), Engineer Millwright. With his wife Emmeline Bushen (age 47 born South Molton) and their son Frederick Henry Bushen (age 19 born Barnstaple), Cabinet Maker.[1]
1936 Died. 'We very much regret to record the death, late on Friday evening, of Mr. Edward Bushen, at his residence, "Mountlands," Fort Hill, Barnstaple, at the age of 67 years. Practically the whole of his life Mr. Bushen was connected with Messrs. Garnish and Lemon's electrical and engineering works at Pilton, learning his trade at the age of 16 years and gradually working himself up until he became foreman and later managing director. For 16 years he was associated with the Barnstaple Sanitary Steam Laundry. Five years ago he was a sidesman at the Piton Church......The principal mourners were the widow, Mr. H. Bushen (son), Maggie and Louis Bushen (step-sister and brother-in-law), Mrs Elsie Bushen (daughter-in-law), Miss Joan Bushen Grand-daughter), Mr. and Mrs. Ratcliffe, Sirs Wallace and Miss Gertie Bushen (nephew and nieces), Mrs. Walter Burge (Cirencester, sister-in-law), Mr. Eugene Freeman (Sydney, brother-in-law)....'[2]
