1884 Construction started at Pembroke Dockyard; built in steel

1886 Launched.

Length, 300ft.; breadth, 46ft .

Twenty 8 in. guns, one Gardner and one Nordenfelt gun, and eighteen Whitehead torpedoes.

Indicated horse-power = 3800, Crew of 250 men.
