WE regret to have to record the death of Sir Cecil McAlpine Weir, K.C.M.G., K.B.E .. M.C., which took place on October 30.
Sir Cecil, who was seventy, was best known for his work as head of the United Kingdom Delegation to the High Authority of the European Coal and Steel Community from 1952 to 1955, and earlier as a prominent figure in the Control Commission for Germany. In addition to his many activities in official circles, however, Sir Cecil was very active in business, and held a number of company directorships.
