c.1844 Worked for Mr Rastrick for 2 years as assistant engineer on the South Coast lines and in Ireland
c.1846 Worked for Mr Fowler for 10 years including 8 years as Principal Engineering Assistant
1850 of 2 Queen's Square Place, Westminster. Joined I Mech E[2]
c.1856 Worked on his own account as a civil engineer including railways in Transylvania and Hungary, waterworks in Spain and as resident engineer on a section of the Bahia and San Francisco Railway; also worked on design and construction of wrought iron bridges
1866 Proposed to join Inst Civil Engineers
1866 Married Annie Elliff Long in Camberwell[3]
1891 Civil Engineer, living in East Dulwich with his wife Annie[4]
1893 Died in Camberwell[5]
