1827 Death notice: 'On Friday evening the 2d inst. died, at his residence, Llanthetty Hall, Breconshire, George Overton, Esq. aged 53. His abilities as an engineer were universally acknowledged; his affability of manners, liberality of mind, and charitableness of disposition will long be remembered by an extensive circle of friends, and especially by the surrounding poor.'[4]
