1890 Pontifex and Wood Ltd transferred all of their white lead, colour, varnish, sheet lead and lead piping business to Millwall Lead Co Ltd [1]

1892 Messrs Colthurst and Harding purchased the paint, colour and varnish business which had been carried on for 100 years by Pontifex and Wood[2]

1895 Locke, Lancaster and W. W. and R. Johnson and Sons acquired the business and factory of the Millwall Lead Co (formerly Pontifex and Wood).
