White and Thompson was founded in 1912 to build aircraft. They later moved to their own facility at Middleton-on-Sea near Bognor in Sussex.
The company was founded by Norman A. Thompson and Dr. Douglas White.
The first aircraft were designed by F. W. Lanchester and built by Daimler.
They built 8 of the Type 3 two-seater anti-submarine flying boat for the RNAS
They supplied 10 of the Bognor Bloater wooden biplanes used on coastal patrol duties
1915. Thompson then struck out on his own and renamed the company Norman Thompson Flight Co.
