1887 Advertisement: 'To Engineers, Ironfounders, Smiths, and others. MR. THOMAS WHITEHEAD has received instructions to SELL BY AUCTION, on the Premises, Albert Ironworks, School Brow, Warrington, on Tuesday, October 25, 1887, commencing at eleven o'clock, the whole of the Valuable MACHINE TOOL, Foundry Plant, Stores, and Effects; comprising 27in. slide lathe, on 24ft. bed ; 10in. screw-cutting lathe, on 12ft. bed; 6in. screw-cutting lathe, on 6ft. bed; two double-geared vertical drilling machines, four weighing machines, fitters' tools, screwing tackle, leather belting, pulley blocks, three portable and two fixed smiths' hearths, anvils and smithy tools, 4-ton portable crane, two 5-ton overhead cranes, foundry cupola, moulding boxes, loam mill, with engine attached; 35in. and 15in. blowing fans, moulders' tools, Cornish boiler, 12ft. long, 5ft. diameter, with 2ft. 8in. flue; corrugated iron roof, 40ft. long, 20ft. span; contents of pattern shops, stores, office furniture, &c.
