Frederick Tasker Burgess (1879-1929)

Frederick Tasker Burgess was born in 1879 and served his apprenticeship with the New Cycle Co, Birmingham.
After occupying various general engineering positions, he entered the automobile industry as draughtsman with the firm of Legros and Knowles and subsequently was designer with Valveless.
After a period with David Brown and Sons, he became Chief Designer with Humber, and from 1920 until the time of his death in November, 1929, was Chief Designer with Bentley.
He was elected a Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1919.
