JOHN VICTOR LEVETT had considerable experience as an electrical engineer and, for twenty-one years - until his retirement in 1946 - was chief electrical engineer to Thomas Broadbent and Sons, Ltd., Central Ironworks, Huddersfield.
He was born in 1887 and received his technical education at Bridlington Engineering College and Huddersfield Technical College. He served an apprenticeship between 1902 and 1911 at Bridlington Engineering College and with Messrs. T. Broadbent, after which he was in practice as a consulting mechanical engineer in Bridlington, installing, amongst other things, country house lighting and pumping plant.
