SS Calgaric was an ocean liner built in 1918 by Harland and Wolff in Belfast for the Pacific Steam Navigation Co as SS Orca. In 1927, she was sold to the White Star Line and renamed Calgaric. [1]
Her sister ships were The SS Orbita and The SS Orduna.
1927 On Wednesday last the White Star Liner Calgaric, formerly the Orca, of the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company, which has been reconditioned and had third-class accommodation added, sailed from Liverpool for Canada. She is a 16,000-ton Harland and Wolff-built liner, with a length of 575ft., and is propelled by triple-screw machinery, with a central low-pressure turbine and four- cylinder triple-expansion engines on the wing shafts.[2]
She remained in service until 1934.
