Arthur Robinson Fearnley was born in 1871.
Apprenticed to Bradford Steam Tramway Company, he became in 1895 General Manager of the Company, leaving them in 1899 to become General Manager of Birkenhead Corporation Tramways, where he remained for four years.
From 1903 until his retirement he was General Manager of Sheffield Corporation Tramways.
On his retirement in 1936 he practised as Transport Advisory Consultant for a number of years.
He died on the 28th March, 1943, at the age of 70.
He was elected a Member in 1916.
