Frank Edward Potten was born in 1905, and received his engineering training with R. G. Whitaker, Ltd., Kingston-on-Thames, and A.C. Cars, Ltd., Thames Ditton.
He then spent two years as Draughtsman with Lagonda, Ltd., Staines, and after a further year as Draughtsman with the Associated Equipment Co., Ltd., he returned to Lagonda, Ltd., as Assistant Chief Draughtsman and Designer.
He was killed in a motor-cycle accident on 29th October, 1933, at the age of 28.
He was elected a Graduate of the Institution in 1926, and was for some time an active member of the Committee of the London Graduates' Branch.
