Frank Munford was born in 1874, and at the conclusion of his college course took the Degrees of B.A. and B.Sc. at London University.
From 1915 to 192o he was headmaster of Chester-le-Street Secondary School, but he had always taken a great interest in the correlation of education and industry, and when, in 1920, John I. Thornycroft and Co. installed their educational scheme he took over the position of Educational Superintendent, a post which he held until the time of his death, which took place on April 27th, 1936.
He was elected a Member in 1932.
