"CHARLES WILLIAM JOHN BLICK, who was in the service of Morris Motors, Ltd., for over twenty years, was connected with the automobile industry for most of his professional career. He was educated at East London Technical College, Battersea and Regent Street Polytechnics, and City and Guilds of London College. After serving his apprenticeship at the Nine Elms works of the London and South Western Railway, from 1901 to 1906, he secured an appointment as mechanical draughtsman in the engineers' department of the Metropolitan Asylums Board. In 1911 he became senior mechanical draughtsman to Wrigley and Company, Ltd., automobile engineers, and six years later took charge of the drawing office. After four years' experience as works manager and designer of light cars and commercial vehicles for the Rhode Motor Co, Birmingham, Mr. Blick began his long connexion with Morris Motors, Ltd., in 1929, and successively held positions in the engine branch at Coventry as chief inspector, service engineer, and general sales and service manager until his retirement in 1950. Mr. Blick, whose death in his sixty-sixth year occurred on 20th November 1950, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1919."
