"ARTHUR BRUCE SCORER was the managing director of [[Meldrums|Meldrums, Ltd]]., Manchester, combustion engineers, and had been associated with that firm as a director since 1914. He was born in 1881 and on leaving Repton School in 1899 entered the engineering works of [[Robey and Co|Robey and Company, Ltd]]., Lincoln. He was made assistant manager in 1903 and later was employed as a draughtsman until 1906 when he went to Australia as representative engineer for the firm. On his return set Great Britain in 1909, he took up an appointment as assistant manager to [[B. R. Rowland and Co|B. R. Rowland and Company, Ltd]]., Reddish, engineers, and us the following year joined the board of directors. "ARTHUR BRUCE SCORER was the managing director of Meldrums, Ltd., Manchester, combustion engineers, and had been associated with that firm as a director since 1914.
