JOHN WILLIAM ADAMS was for eighteen years manager of the Leeds branch of the Skefko Ball-Bearing Company, Ltd. He was born in Brussels in 1882 and was educated at the Athenee Royale and at the Ecole de Navigation, Antwerp. In 1899 he commenced a three years' apprenticeship with the Bell Telephone Company, Ltd., Antwerp (the Belgian branch of the Western Electric Company), and afterwards came to England and joined the Sturtevant Engineering Company, Ltd., as a draughtsman.
