He was born at Klang, Selangor, and was educated in Kuala Lumpur and at Wallingbrook School, Devon, and at Yeovil Technical School. From 1927 to 1929 he served his apprenticeship with [[Petters|Messrs. Petters, Ltd.]], Westland Works, Yeovil, and afterwards entered the Royal Technical College, Glasgow. In 1932 he returned to Malaya as assistant mains engineer, in the Government Electrical Department of the Federated Malay States. A year later he was promoted to be electrical engineer, with control of the power station at Klang, and subsequently held similar positions at Kuantan and Gemas. | |||

PERCIVAL HECTOR MCLEOD, whose death occurred at Kuala Lumpur, Federated Malay States, on 24th April 1938, at the early age of 31, was elected a Graduate of the Institution in 1932 and transferred to Associate Membership in 1934.
