"ALBERT ERNEST BERESFORD spent the whole of his professional career with [[H. W. Ward and Co|Messrs. H. W. Ward and Company, Ltd]]., machine tool makers, of Birmingham. He was born in 1883 in that city, where he received his theoretical training in engineering at a technical school and at the University. On the completion of a three years' apprenticeship with [[W. and J. Player|Messrs. W. and J. Player, Ltd]]., Birmingham, pneumatic engineers, in 1905, he began his long connection with Messrs. Ward and Company, with the post of general assistant to the manager. Some four years later he was appointed representative for the firm in London, and took over the management of their business in the South of England. Subsequently he became general manager and also acted as technical adviser. Mr. Beresford had been an Associate Member of the Institution since 1917. His death occurred on 25th January 1950." | |||

"ALBERT ERNEST BERESFORD spent the whole of his professional career with Messrs. H. W. Ward and Company, Ltd., machine tool makers, of Birmingham. He was born in 1883 in that city, where he received his theoretical training in engineering at a technical school and at the University.
