"JOHN DALL was a Member of the Institution for fifty-seven years, having been elected in 1893. He served a five years' apprenticeship with [[Clark, Chapman and Gurney|Messrs. Clark, Chapman and Gurney, Ltd]]., Gateshead, on the termination of which in 1881 he was employed for a brief period in the drawing office of Messrs. Black, Hawthorn and Company, Ltd., in the same town. He then joined the staff of Messrs. [[Harland and Wolff]], Belfast, shipbuilders, as a draughtsman in the engine works and after holding this position for ten years was made assistant manager. In 1902 he went to Liverpool and on the completion of a short appointment at the Atlantic Engine Works of [[F. Leyland and Co|Messrs. F. Leyland and Company, Ltd]]., began an association with [[Lamport and Holt|Messrs. Lamport and Holt, Ltd]]., which lasted for twenty-seven years. Mr. Dall's death occurred in Belfast on 10th September 1950 at the age of eighty-nine."

"JOHN DALL was a Member of the Institution for fifty-seven years, having been elected in 1893. He served a five years' apprenticeship with Messrs.
