"THOMAS HENRY WAITE had a long connection with the motor industry and was motor omnibus superintendent engineer to the Cardiff Corporation for nearly thirty years. On the completion of a five years' apprenticeship with [[Thomas Ayliffe and Co|Messrs. Thomas Ayliffe and Company]], automobile engineers, of Cardiff, in 1904, he gained experience during the next four years as mechanic and tester to the [[Automobile Co]], of the same city, and subsequently acted as deputy foreman at Hill's Garage.


Early in 1915 he joined the Royal Army Service Corps and served in France with the rank of mechanist staff sergeant with the charge of four workshops. On demobilization in 1919 he found temporary employment as foreman to [[R. E. Jones|Messrs. R. E. Jones, Ltd]]., before taking up, in January 1921, his final appointment with the Corporation of Cardiff, which he retained until his retirement in 1948. Mr. Waite, whose death in his sixty-seventh year occurred on 11th May 1950, was elected an Associate Member of the [[Institution of Automobile Engineers]] in 1931."

"THOMAS HENRY WAITE had a long connection with the motor industry and was motor omnibus superintendent engineer to the Cardiff Corporation for nearly thirty years. On the completion of a five years' apprenticeship with Messrs.
