"DAVID WILSON SHAW, who was born in Falkirk in 1876, received his theoretical training at the Science School in that town and served his apprenticeship in the engineering department of the Carron Iron Works from 1889 to 1894.
His services were subsequently retained by the firm as assistant works manager and after holding this position for eighteen years he became, in 1918, the proprietor of a motor and general engineering business in Falkirk.
During the 1939-45 war he was superintendent engineer of a shell factory at Larbert but returned at the end of the war to carry on his business. Mr. Shaw, who was elected a Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1946, was a teacher of engineering subjects at the Falkirk Science School for thirty years. His death occurred on 5th September 1950."
