"FREDERICK WILLIAM ATTOCK throughout his career was in the service of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, both during its independent existence and after its absorption into the London, Midland and Scottish Railway.
After receiving his education at private schools he entered, in 1893, the Knott Mill Ironworks of Messrs. Galloways, Ltd., Manchester, as a pupil.
