"CHARLES RUSSELL TAYLOR, B.Sc. (Eng.), who was born in 1885, received his early education at University College School, London.
After serving an apprenticeship with the Chicago Writing Machine Co, U.S.A., from 1903 to 1906, he joined Messrs. Taylor's Typewriter Company, Ltd., London, and from 1909 to 1912 continued his education at University College, where he graduated B.Sc. in engineering in 1912.
In that year he also received the joint appointment of manager for Messrs. Taylor and the Orde Hall Engineering Works, for the equipment of which he was personally responsible.
