He was born in 1890, and was educated at Aldenham School and the Battersea Polytechnic, where in 1913 he gained a Whitworth Exhibition and a first-class diploma in mechanical engineering. "MICHAEL BERNARD HUNTER, O.B.E., Wh.Ex., spent the whole of his professional career with the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company, Ltd.
He was born in 1890, and was educated at Aldenham School and the Battersea Polytechnic, where in 1913 he gained a Whitworth Exhibition and a first-class diploma in mechanical engineering. His practical training was obtained between 1907 and 1910 at the Watford Engineering Works. He began his long connection with Messrs. Marconi in 1913, and two years later was made outside constructional engineer, his duties in this respect entailing the erection and running of power transmitting stations at North Petherton, Bodmin, and Somerton in Britain, and many places abroad.
He was awarded the O.B.E. for his services in the 1939-45 war. Mr. Hunter became a Graduate of the Institution in 1910, and was transferred to Associate Membership in 1918. His death occurred on 9th July 1949."
