"Major WILLIAM BRUCE MCCAUSLAND KILLEN, B.Sc., R.E.M.E., was born in 1910 and received his education at Campbell College and at the Queen's University of Belfast, where he graduated B.Sc. in chemistry in 1935 and in mechanical engineering a year later. He then obtained employment in the experimental department of [[Vauxhall|Messrs. Vauxhall Motors, Ltd]]., of Luton, for whom he was chiefly engaged on engine tests until 1939 when he joined the staff of [[Harland and Wolff|Messrs. Harland and Wolff, Ltd]]., at Belfast, as a designer in the engine works department. In 1941 he was granted a commission as lieutenant in the R.A.O.C., being transferred to the R.E.M.E. in February 1943 and promoted to the rank of major. Major Killen's death occurred on 15th September 1947. He had been an Associate Member of the Institution since 1942." | |||

"Major WILLIAM BRUCE MCCAUSLAND KILLEN, B.Sc., R.E.M.E., was born in 1910 and received his education at Campbell College and at the Queen's University of Belfast, where he graduated B.Sc. in chemistry in 1935 and in mechanical engineering a year later.
