"ARTHUR JOHN BIBBY, who was born in 1893, received his technical education at University College, Reading. After serving his apprenticeship with [[Allen and Simmons|Messrs. Allen and Simmons]], marine and general engineers, of Reading, from 1909 to 1916, he joined [[Engine Patents|Messrs. Engine Patents, Ltd]]. (later [[Ricardo and Co|Messrs. Ricardo and Company (1927), Ltd]].), and remained on the staff of that company for twenty-six years.
