ALFRED RICHARD EDMONDSON, M.Sc., was an Associate Member of the Institution for nearly fifty years, having been elected in 1893, and for most of his professional career was closely identified with the educational side of engineering. ALFRED RICHARD EDMONDSON, M.Sc., was an Associate Member of the Institution for nearly fifty years, having been elected in 1893, and for most of his professional career was closely identified with the educational side of engineering. He served his apprenticeship from 1879 to 1885 with Messrs. Mather and Platt, Manchester, and remained with that firm as draughtsman until 1890, when he became chief draughtsman to the Mills Water Tube Boiler Company.
