ELWIN CECIL MOLONY spent the whole of his professional career in India. He was born in 1894 and served his apprenticeship from 1909 to 1915 in the [[North Western Railway]] locomotive works at Lahore and Moghalpura, and concurrently attended classes in the railway company's technical school. His first employment was as journeyman millwright in the locomotive works at Moghalpura. He was then made head draughtsman in the same department, subsequently becoming assistant chief draughtsman with responsibility for the design of new works, locomotives, and other material. ELWIN CECIL MOLONY spent the whole of his professional career in India. He was born in 1894 and served his apprenticeship from 1909 to 1915 in the North Western Railway locomotive works at Lahore and Moghalpura, and concurrently attended classes in the railway company's technical school. His first employment was as journeyman millwright in the locomotive works at Moghalpura. He was then made head draughtsman in the same department, subsequently becoming assistant chief draughtsman with responsibility for the design of new works, locomotives, and other material.
