He was educated at the City and Guilds Technical College, Finsbury, and served his apprenticeship with [[Fraser and Chalmers|Messrs. Fraser and Chalmers, Ltd]]., of Erith, from 1903 to 1907. He continued in the service of that firm, filling a variety of positions, until 1911 when he was appointed assistant engineer at the Singapore branch. A year later he became general manager and, after its absorption by the [[GEC|General Electric Company]] in 1918, he continued to act in the same capacity until ill health caused him to return to England in 1929. "PERCY HOWARD, whose death occurred in February 1947, in his sixty-third year, was elected a Graduate of the institution in 1903 and was transferred to Associate Membership in 1912. He was also an Associate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He was educated at the City and Guilds Technical College, Finsbury, and served his apprenticeship with Messrs. Fraser and Chalmers, Ltd., of Erith, from 1903 to 1907.
