ALBERT EDWARD SHINER was an Associate Member of the Institution for forty-one years, having been elected in 1903. He was born in 1871 and received his education at the Islington School of Arts and at Birkbeck College. On the termination of a seven years' apprenticeship with [[John Esson|Mr. John Esson]], printing machinist, of London, he continued in the latter's employment as a journeyman. Subsequently he was made machine draughtsman and outdoor foreman, and finally foreman of works, in which capacity he reorganized the company and assumed full responsibility for the management of the business. | |||

ALBERT EDWARD SHINER was an Associate Member of the Institution for forty-one years, having been elected in 1903. He was born in 1871 and received his education at the Islington School of Arts and at Birkbeck College. On the termination of a seven years' apprenticeship with Mr. John Esson, printing machinist, of London, he continued in the latter's employment as a journeyman. Subsequently he was made machine draughtsman and outdoor foreman, and finally foreman of works, in which capacity he reorganized the company and assumed full responsibility for the management of the business.
