"ALFRED RANDALL had considerable experience as a colliery engineer and since 1928 up to the time of his death, which occurred in July 1945, had held the position of chief draughtsman and general engineering assistant to the Western Group of Messrs. Amalgamated Anthracite Collieries, Ltd., Carmarthenshire.
He was born in 1889 and served his apprenticeship from 1907 to 1914 with the Rhymney Iron Company, Ltd., of Cardiff, in whose employment he continued as chief draughtsman and engineering assistant for a further three years.
