JAMES HENRY BROWN retained a close connection with engineering in the Manchester district throughout his career. He received his technical training at the Manchester School of Technology and served a seven years' apprenticeship with [[Mather and Platt|Messrs. Mather and Platt, Ltd.]], on the conclusion of which in 1896 he remained with that firm as a draughtsman for a further twelve years. JAMES HENRY BROWN retained a close connection with engineering in the Manchester district throughout his career. He received his technical training at the Manchester School of Technology and served a seven years' apprenticeship with Messrs. Mather and Platt, Ltd., on the conclusion of which in 1896 he remained with that firm as a draughtsman for a further twelve years.
