WILLIAM HARDY was in the service of [[Joseph Fisher and Sons|Messrs. Joseph Fisher and Sons, Ltd.]], of Newry, Northern Ireland, as marine superintendent for the very long period of forty years. He served his apprenticeship with the [[Bessbrook Spinning Co|Bessbrook Spinning Company, Ltd.]], in whose employment he continued for some years. He then joined the [[Dundalk and Newry Steam Packet Co|Dundalk and Newry Steam Packet Company, Ltd.]], and served at sea for five years as second engineer, subsequently being employed for a similar period as chief engineer. WILLIAM HARDY was in the service of Messrs. Joseph Fisher and Sons, Ltd., of Newry, Northern Ireland, as marine superintendent for the very long period of forty years. He served his apprenticeship with the Bessbrook Spinning Company, Ltd., in whose employment he continued for some years.
