WILLIAM ROBERT PRESCOTT was an aeronautical engineer, and was connected with the firm of Blackburn Aircraft, Ltd., at Brough, Yorkshire, from his apprenticeship, which he served from 1923 to 1926, until his death, which occurred at the age of thirty-nine, on 26th March 1945.
He received his education at Hull Grammar School and later at the Hull Technical College. During his association with the firm he filled successively the positions of junior and senior draughtsman, and those of junior and senior stressman, until 1938, when he entered upon his final appointment as assistant to the chief of the production stress office.
Mr. Prescott was elected a Student of the Institution in 1928, and was transferred to Graduateship in 1935, and to Associate Membership in 1940.
