JAMES C. JENNINGS died on July 5, 1894, at the age of sixty-seven, at his residence in London. He began his connection with the iron trade in 1855, at the Ormesby Ironworks, Middlesbrough.
Three years later he joined the staff of Bolckow & Vaughan, and when that firm was converted into a limited liability company, he was appointed secretary. He occupied that position until 1870, when he entered into business as an iron, steel, and ore merchant. Owing to ill-health he retired in 1885.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1875.
