Mr Edwin Leach (Fellow), died recently aged 64.
Educated at Rochdale Central and Manchester Grammar School, Mr Leach obtained his technical experience as a graduate apprentice at Tweedales and Smalley, moving to Courtaulds in 1928 and to Barlow and Jones, Bolton in 1952 as Chief Engineer.
In 1962 he was appointed lecturer in the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Salford, and became particularly interested in plastics.
Mr Leach, a member of the Institution since 1955, will be sadly missed by his many students, friends and colleagues.
