DAVID JONES died very suddenly, of heart disease, at Mountain Ash, on June 6, 1897, at the age of fifty-three. He was formerly deputy-manager of the Dowlais Ironworks, and had previously held similar responsible posts at the Blaenavon Ironworks and at the Barrow Haematite Steelworks.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1893.
