DAVID EVANS died at his residence, Llangennech Park, Carmarthenshire, on March 5, 1909, in his seventy-fourth year.
For nearly fifty years he played a prominent part in the development of industrial and colliery undertakings in the district. He was largely interested in tinplate works, and for a great number of years was chairman of directors of the Ponthenry Colliery Company. He was also chairman of directors of the Kidwelly Tinplate Company, and a large shareholder in the Welsh Tinplate and Metal Stamping Company.
In 1896 he acted as High Sheriff for Carmarthenshire.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1890.
