of Glasgow
1952 Company incorporated[1] 47 percent owned by Johns-Manville Corporation of New York and 53 percent by Cape Asbestos Co to make insulation board for use in ship construction (Marinite was a monolithic asbestos fireproof board which could be made into various shapes). Supplies would be sourced from USA until the factory in Glasgow was ready.
1973 Cape acquired the shares of Johns-Manville Corporation in the company[2] so Marinite became a wholly-owned subsidiary.
